Beginning in 1999, Army veteran Wade C. “Lion” Lindwedel began as an inexperienced representative of one of the Legends of Hip Hop, UTFO‘s Kangol Kid. His natural charisma and outgoing personality, combined with a superior grasp of writing skills from a lifetime of reading and studying, made him the ideal publicist.
Before long, as his rolodex expanded (you see kids, back before there were smart phones, we wrote people’s contact information down on these little cards that went into a special kind of filing system, called Rolodex), and his experience level grew, he recognized a vacuum in the representation of the artists he loved and grew up with. Lion created True School Entertainment, a firm dedicated to handling PR for “old school” hip hop and R&Bartists.
There was also another need that he soon gravitated towards, and suddenly found himself filling, that of Bodyguard to many of his artists. Lion’s expertise in close-protection comes from 37 years of study in various forms of martial arts, 12 years of US Army, including specialized training, and combat experience that honed his attention to detail, situational awareness, and security mentality. Today, Lion oscillates between the roles of Publicist, Manager, and Bodyguard, as needed.
Lion Lindwedel and True School Entertainment specialize in – Public Relations, Media Consultation, Executive Close Protection, Security Consultation, Travel Security, Artist Management. Booking includes Tours, Individual Shows, Personal Appearances, Speaking Engagements, Event Hosting and Conference Panels.
“It always takes a team to make big moves in the industry. Everyone plays an important roll in each step, but some had more duties than others, but as a team, we got the job done. Lion’s help gives us a boost in our journey by providing protection and public relations, as needed.”
